One of the craziest weeks in NYC has just begun. We're not referring to one of the coldest weeks this winter - a low of 3 degrees?! No thanks! We're talking about New York Fashion Week (#NYFW). Only Kanye West could create such hype around a show. This event is so grand it's being held at Madison Square Garden. Not only will West be debuting his third collaboration with Adidas, he'll also be letting attendees listen to his highly-anticipated eighth studio album currently titled, The Life of Pablo.

Season after season, the duo behind Proenza leave us in awe of their unique and ultra cool pieces. This year, instead of giving us a taste of what to expect by releasing their Pre-Fall collection, we have been kept in the dark. Which means, this season's show is sure to be on a whole other level of wow.

Wang's shows are notoriously epic. From soundtrack to guest list, every show is hipper than the last. This year is extra special. No longer designing for Balenciaga means Wang can devote 100% of his creative juices to his own brand. Meaning this may very well be Wang's best show yet.

Our 3 New Year's Resolutions

We’re 19 days into 2016 and we wanted to share the resolutions we made to make this year bigger and better than the last. Our most important goals for this year are:


In 2015, we declared that our seafood would be sustainably sourced. This is more important to us now than ever before. The Earth is constantly evolving, especially as the population expands. We consistently seek and maintain relationships with fisheries that pride themselves in organic practices. It’s a tough job actively maintaining a low carbon footprint while serving up delicious food, but someone’s gotta do it.


Serving up healthy and tasty alternatives to fast food is something we take seriously. We want Temaki’s to become a household name and in doing so, we want to continue to spread the word about the culture behind Uma. Temakis are totally like Japanese tacos. And we know everyone will love them just as much as we do. 


In an attempt to spread Uma’s message, we want to leave a positive impression in the hearts (and stomachs) of everyone who has the pleasure of trying our delicious food. We are doing so by catering as many events as you guys will let us! Oh and if you haven’t tried our truffle rice balls you ain’t living right!

Hello Ramen Weather!

Brrrr—New York winter is finally here! And don't worry, we are more than ready. Excited to announce a brand new ramen bowl at our 14th Street & 7th Avenue location, now available for lunch and dinner. We're super pumped about it and hope you are too. This Japanese favorite will have handmade noodles and a special ramen broth recipe, crafted by Chef Chris Jaeckle himself! We can't wait to share it with you.

Choose from miso, spicy miso, or shoyu broth. Topped with kale, snow peas, and a soft-seasoned egg.
